DayArc Privacy Policy

DayArc is developed by PrairieSoft LLC. DayArc has no accounts and does not sell personal data. The free tier may offer optional third-party rewarded advertising as described below.

Location

If you grant permission, DayArc uses your location on your device to choose the initial map position and calculate local sunlight, moonlight, and eclipse information. PrairieSoft does not receive or retain your location. You may deny or revoke permission and continue using the app by moving the map or searching for a place.

Apple services

DayArc uses Apple MapKit for map content and place search. Apple’s handling of requests is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your device settings.

Privacy-preserving product metrics

DayArc sends PrairieSoft’s first-party service only the app version and aggregate counts for a fixed set of coarse product interactions, such as opening the app, using search, choosing an observation mode, opening an eclipse list, using time playback, or opening Settings or Feedback. DayArc does not send event timestamps, event sequences, location, map coordinates, search text, language, device characteristics, or user, device, installation, session, advertising, or vendor identifiers.

Metrics are aggregated by UTC receipt day, app version, and event name and retained for no more than 90 days. They are used only to understand feature usage and improve DayArc. They are not joined with feedback, purchases, advertising, attribution, or other datasets and cannot be used to identify or profile an individual user.

Feedback

If you choose Send Feedback, DayArc shows what will be submitted and requires your explicit consent. The submission contains only the text you enter, the app version, and the privacy-notice version. It does not request a name, email address, account, device identifier, or location. Please do not include contact details, precise locations, or other sensitive information.

Feedback is stored separately from metrics, used only to understand and resolve product feedback, and retained for no more than 90 days. DayArc provides a receipt number after submission. Because no contact information is collected, PrairieSoft cannot reply directly.

Purchases

DayArc Pro is purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system. DayArc reads verified Apple transaction entitlements to unlock Pro and restore purchases. PrairieSoft does not receive payment-card details.

Advertising

Users without Pro may voluntarily watch a rewarded video supplied through Pangle Global to unlock 30 minutes of full access. The ad option appears only after a video successfully loads, the video never starts automatically, and skipping or dismissing it grants no access time. If an ad cannot be loaded, DayArc shows only the Pro purchase option and no advertising content. Pro users do not need to watch ads.

Advertising providers may process identifiers, advertising and interaction data, diagnostic data, coarse location inferred from IP, and other technical data for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and app functionality. Some categories may be linked or used for tracking under Apple’s definitions. Pangle’s handling of data is governed by Pangle’s privacy policy.

DayArc does not send map coordinates, place searches, feedback text, or PrairieSoft’s anonymous metrics to Pangle, and PrairieSoft does not join its metrics or feedback datasets with advertising data.

Children

DayArc does not knowingly request personal data from children. Feedback instructions explicitly ask users not to include names, contact details, precise locations, or other sensitive information.

Your choices

You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings. Rewarded advertising is optional. You can avoid sending feedback, and you can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app. Anonymous feedback is automatically deleted within 90 days; if you retain its receipt number, you may request earlier deletion by email.

Changes

If DayArc’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the change is released.
